The Women’s Healthcare Group has been a leader in OB/GYN care in Overland Park and Shawnee Mission, KS since 1990. We place top priority on each patient’s comfort and health. We are committed to providing expert, compassionate, and personalized care to each individual. We offer an atmosphere where we put women’s health and well-being first and foremost. Our business is more than how well we practice medicine – it is a reflection of ourselves as caring and committed people. We believe our patients receive the best medical care when actively partnering with us and participating in the medical decision-making process. The women who walk through our doors are individuals with unique and complex lives that influence all aspects of their mind and body. We listen to their concerns and guide them through the decision process, as ultimately it is each woman’s choice for her own health care. We offer a full spectrum of gynecologic care for women from puberty through menopause. We also provide a complete array of obstetric services from the initial sonogram through delivery and postpartum care. We continue to expand services as new advancements in medicine become available. We understand and respect our patient’s right to choose good healthcare and have dedicated ourselves to minimally invasive techniques. We thank our patients, peers, friends, and family for the devotion and trust they have bestowed to us over the past three decades. We plan to continue providing the best care for many years to come.

I am excited to be a part of the team at the Women’s Healthcare Group. I joined the group in September 2012 after spending 3 years practicing in suburban Denver, CO. Kansas however has always been my home. I was born and raised in Shawnee. After graduating from Notre Dame de Sion high school I pursued my undergraduate degree in chemistry from Saint Louis University. I was fortunate enough to come back home to Kansas City to attend the University of Kansas Medical School. My residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology was completed at UMKC where I served as the Administrative Chief Resident. After 3 years in Colorado and 2 children we decided to move back home to be near family. My career has allowed me to develop a comprehensive practice that includes a passion for adolescent care, general obstetrics, high risk pregnancies, and infertility treatments for pregnancy. I also do in office procedures such as ablations for heavy bleeding and Essure, a form of permanent sterilization. I welcome all new patients. I want to partner with patients and help them play an active role in their care and decisions during pregnancy and with gynecologic care. When not at work you can find me at home spending time with my husband, a local High School teacher, and my two young kids. We are lucky to have a large extended family in the area and enjoy spending time with them. I am a “die-hard” KU basketball fan. My husband and I love to travel with our family and make it a point to return to the mountains of Colorado every chance we get to reconnect with the beautiful outdoors and fresh mountain air.

I grew up in Great Bend, KS and attended a private arts college in Winfield, KS where I met my husband, Brian. After graduating from the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine, we set out on our first big adventure, and farthest location from family. We moved to Temple, TX where we spent four years so I could complete my residency training at Scott and White Memorial Hospital. There I received a comprehensive gynecologic surgery experience, including advanced laparoscopy and vaginal surgery, and cared for high-risk obstetric patients. I am delighted to have returned to Kansas after residency and love being near family. My husband and I are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Lillian and Cora. We love spending time near water, whether lakes or pools, and going to parks. In my spare time I love reading light-hearted books that make me laugh out loud: Janet Evanovich is a riot. It is important to me that my patients participate in decision-making processes and feel comfortable enough with me to ask any questions. I look forward to forming long-lasting relationships with my patients.

I was born in 1962 in Kansas City and have lived here all my life. After graduating from Barstow High School in 1981, I went directly into the six-year medical program at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. I subsequently did my residency from 1987 to 1991 in OB/GYN, also at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. I have been practicing with The Women’s Healthcare Group since graduating from residency in 1991 as an OB/GYN. I currently serve as president of the group. I offer a broad range of treatment options for women, including gynecology and obstetrics, with a special interest in laparoscopic procedures, laprascopically assistanced vaginal hysterectomy and da Vinci robotically assisted surgery. I find this very rewarding. Outside of my medical practice, I live happily in south Johnson County with my wife, Janice, who is a pediatrician, and our two daughters, Michelle and Melissa. I try to go snow skiing once a year, given the opportunity, and have foolishly taken up the sport of golf in the last several years. Most of all, I really enjoy my job and the fact that I get to help people every day.

I am a “born and raised” Kansas Citian. I spent part of my college and all of my medical school years in my father’s original home, St. Louis, MO, and consider it my second home. However, I am delighted to be raising my family here. I have been in practice in Johnson County since 1987 and have been primarily associated with Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Shawnee Mission Medical Center; my two current hospital affiliations. My practice includes office and surgical gynecology. My practice style emphasizes educating women regarding their health so they can fully participate in maintaining their health, both preventatively and in coping with problems which arise. I feel patient involvement is essential to leading a long, healthy life. My time outside of the office is filled with my children’s activities including lacrosse and volleyball. We enjoy traveling, particularly to Sarasota, FL where my parents spent winters for many years

I have been practicing in Overland Park since 2002. My various practice experiences have brought me to value the practice philosophy at The Women’s Healthcare Group. I really enjoy the physicians and nurse midwives that I have the privilege of working with every day. We truly are a team. My fascination with pregnancy and birth began at a young age. I honestly remember my dolls having babies with calculated due dates. I love all aspects of women’s health from gynecology to pregnancy and delivery. I try to always listen to women and really hear what they are telling me. I want them to feel comfortable talking openly with me about all of their concerns. I chose to become a Certified Nurse Midwife because I love the education side of my job. I truly believe that if you teach and empower women to make healthy nutritional and lifestyle choices that it improves outcomes in all aspects of their lives. I definitely am a birth junkie. It is such a thrill to bring babies into waiting arms for the first time. I love helping couples through the birth process with respect and choice. My husband Nathan and I live in south Overland Park with our three young children. They keep me busy with all of their sports and activities.

I am a native Kansan; I was born in Lawrence and received my medical degree from the University of Kansas. My husband, Evan, is from Des Moines, IA so we are excited to return to the Midwest with our new daughter, Annie, and be closer to friends and family. I completed my residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the summer of 2020 and served as an Administrative Chief Resident. Vanderbilt performs almost 400 deliveries annually, which provided me ample experience in obstetric care. I also had the privilege of learning from surgeons in all of the gynecologic subspecialties. The OBGYN field is constantly evolving and I have enjoyed the academic benefits of staying up to date in new treatments. I plan to continue this practice at WHCG in order to offer the safest and most innovative best practices. The reason I chose OBGYN is its unique combination of surgery and continuity of care throughout a woman’s lifespan. Caring for patients in clinic, on labor and delivery, and in the operating room allows me to develop long-term relationships with them while maintaining a patient-centered approach. During consultations, I will provide all of the information I have gathered, discuss the options, and defer to the values and decisions of my patients. Residency brought many highs and lows—getting married, welcoming my first baby, experiencing the outbreak of COVID 19, surviving a tornado, and spending countless hours on call. Through it all, I was described by my attendings as calm, confident, surgically skilled, and a strong leader. As I start my new practice, I’m also looking forward to a little more free time to enjoy traveling with my family, decorating our new house in Prairie Village, and trying new recipes.
